Driving directions by car Coming from southern direction: On the motorway A61 towards Cologne take the exit Pfalzfeld. Continue straight on the highway across Mühlpfad to the Hunsrück-Höhenstraße and follow the signs to Trier, Kastellaun until you arrive the village Gödenroth. In the middle of Gödenroth turn right and proceed towards Burgen and Beltheim. After you have crossed Beltheim you will reach Dorweiler. In Dorweiler turn right into the first road (Waldecker Weg) which will take you to the Burg Waldeck after approximately 2 kms. Mind the turnoff short behind the village and turn left. Please find the parking site on your right hand side. Coming from northern direction: On the motorway A61 to Koblenz take the exit Koblenz-Dieblich. Continue on the highway towards Cochem until you reach Burgen. In Burgen turn left into the Hunsrück-Höhenstraße and go on across Macken and Dommershausen until you arrive in Dorweiler. In Dorweiler turn right into the first road (Waldecker Weg) which will take you to the Burg Waldeck after approximately 2 kms. Mind the turnoff short behind the village and turn left. The closest train station for long-distance trains (ICE, IC, operator: Deutsche Bahn) is Koblenz main station. In Koblenz you have access to a bus service that commutes between Koblenz-Burgen or Koblenz-Kastellaun. From there you will for sure be able to get to Burg Waldeck on foot or on your bike quite easily just ask the local residents if you get stuck.You even might hitchhike or luckily might be picked up by your friends. There is a direct train service commuting between Cologne main train station and Kastellaun.
You will be able to catch a frequent (6 times per day) non-stop bus service (operator: company Bohr) from Cologne (Breslauer Platz) to Kastellaun (Marktplatz) and back. The second and last stop of this service is Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. The travelling time is 2 hours and the bus service in online on Saturdays and Sundays as well. Please note that the time table may deviate on bank holidays. There might other bus services to Kastellaun that go across Koblenz main train station.

There is a frequent (every 45 minutes) bus service (operator: company Bohr) from Frankfurt main train station that brings you to Frankfurt-Hahn International Airport. Change the Bus at the airport and get on the VRM-shuttle-bus #610 to Koblenz and get off the bus at Kastellaun Marktplatz.

For the well trained amongst you: take the uphill route from Burgen through the idyllic Baybachtal. It will only take about 2 ½ hours but this is not recommended for couch-potatoes! Fly?
The Burg Waldeck is also located well nearby the Frankfurt-Hahn International Airport. Have fun!
